Akado/Dominus Gladius – Synthetic Sankaku Yari

Our Sankaku Yari is about 40cm in total length. the blade itself is about 28cm. With three broad edges and rounded tip, this polearm head can be used to practice the various techniques of soujutsu and even used for controlled sparring. The collar opening is approximately 25mm (1 inch) and has a pre-drilled collar hole so that it can be easily mounted to the haft of your choice with screws.

All martial arts carries a certain amount of risk. There is no such thing as a "safe" weapon. Even amongst training weapons, polearm trainers usable for both good technique and sparrring are notoriously difficult to make.

Our Yari heads now come in two versions. The "Kata" version is made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and better suited to simulating steel for controlled technique practice and low-contact sparring. The "Jigeiko" version is made of softer Polyurethane with Shore A rating of 95. The Jigeiko version still maintains enough stiffness to perform technique but is more flexible and forgiving in the thrust to allow for more impact in sparring.
